Our great Ministry
In your calling, you have a greater ministry John 14: 12 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.”
Let’s recall some of the miracles Jesus did. Healing the sick, raised some people from the dead, turned the water into wine, calmed the storms, fed over 5000 people with just a few fish and bread, etc. But they got sick and died. The sad thing is, some Christians blame God if they are not healed. They have a wrong theology or understanding of God. Then, they stop going to church. Where can you find in the Bible that Christians should be like an island?
All the physical healing of Jesus are just temporary. There will be a complete healing one day. He wants your fellowship in heaven. This world is not our permanent home. We just have a few years left after paying our mortgage.
All the miracles Jesus did on this earth revealed God’s glory and that people might believe in Him, according to: John 20: 30-31, “And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; 31 but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.”
When Jesus was on earth, His human physical body could only be in one location. That was the choice He made. If he was in Nazareth, he was only in Nazareth etc.
The Holy Spirit came on the Day of Pentecost to indwell in every believer. The Holy Spirit is the Vicar of Christ, not the pope. Jesus is no longer confined in one location, the Spirit of Christ could be everywhere, wherever there is a Christian indwelt by Him.
Because there are many Christians everywhere, doing Christ’s work — greater works are being done. Your MESSAGE is a miraculous message too. The result of your ministry is a permanent one, not temporary healing. That is why it’s greater than His. When people believe they receive permanent healing, permanent - Everlasting life. There are only two things that will last forever: The Word of God, and our souls.
When someone repents of his /her sins, God gives them what? Temporary life? Or permanent everlasting life? Our physical body may be healed now, but one day it will get sick and die. Our spirit is completely healed when we accept Christ (Eph 2).
That is why our ministry is greater compared to the physical healing that Jesus did, because we are dealing with something worthy of eternal value. And Christians indwelt by the Spirit are His witnesses as they proclaim the unchanging power of the Gospel. We should never stop preaching, and proclaiming the cross, because the CROSS is a powerful demonstration of God’s grace. All by grace and by grace alone!
