Do You Have A Reservation?

Revelation 20:15 “And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.” Chapter 21:27 says that “only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life” will be allowed into heaven. If you are a believer in Christ your “name is written in heaven.” (Luke 10:20). It means you have a reservation in the Book of life. Anyone whose name is not written in this Lamb’s Book of Life their place will be in the lake of fire which is the second death—eternal separation from God and from your loved ones.

Jesus said “I go to prepare a place for you and if I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.” (Read John14: 1-4 and its context).

Heaven is a reserved place, a prepared place-- for a prepared people; and He is coming back again anytime.

John 14: 5 Thomas asked, how can we know the way? Jesus said: “I am the Way…” (V.6)

This is a tremendous claim. He did not give them a map and talk about their journey. Jesus did not say “I am one among many ways.” Rather, “I am the Way,” with a definite article. There is no other way. Jesus said further, “if you want to see my Father in heaven, you have to know me.”

Also, He said: “I am the Truth.” Truth is a person. Jesus is saying just, “as I am the way to God, I am also the truth. I am the end of the search.” Jesus is the full expression of the truth about life, the universe and God.

Finally, Jesus said: “I am the life.” Jesus came to give life abundantly and life eternal. Every other path leads to death. Only Jesus leads to eternal life.

There is a song in Sunday School we loved to sing:

I met Jesus at the crossroads, Where the two ways meet

Satan too was standing there, And he said come this way.

Lot’s and lot’s of pleasures I can give to you today.

But I said, NO! there’s Jesus here

Just see what He offers me:

Down here, my sins forgiven,

Up there, a home in heaven,

Praise God that’s the way for me!

Legend: Philosophers’ philosophies

According to an old legend, a man became lost in his travels and wandered into a bed of quicksand. Some founders of religions came to see with their own philosophies.

- Confucius saw the man’s predicament and said, “It is evident that men should stay out of places such as this.”

- Next, Buddha observed the situation and said, “Let that man’s plight be a lesson to the rest of the world.”

- Then Muhammad came by and said to the sinking man, “Alas, it is the will of Allah.”

Finally, Jesus appeared, “Take my hand, brother,” he said, “and I will save you.”
